A proposed facility in Ionia County will recycle food waste and manure into energy.
Ag-Grid Energy LLC has teamed up with Meadowbrook Dairy, a farm located in Lake Odessa for the project. The facility will take manure and local food waste and convert it into renewable natural gas and renewable electricity.
The Michigan Strategic Fund approved a request to issue $40 million in bonds to fund the project on Tuesday. The facility is set to begin recycling operations sometime next year.
