Bank robbery suspect taken into custody; Wyoming DPS/FBI investigate

WYOMING, Mich. -- The Wyoming Department of Public Safety says it has taken a suspect into custody following a bank robbery Friday morning.

It happened around 9 o'clock at the Fifth Third Bank branch at 2828 Michael Avenue, which is just south of 28th Street.

Wyoming Public Safety says the suspect approached a teller and demanded money, implying he had a weapon. He took off with an undisclosed amount of cash. Officers began searching the area for the suspect, based on his description. They say a 65-year-old man was arrested without incident and taken to the Kent County Jail.

His name is being withheld until after he is arraigned.
