The West Michigan Whitecaps are going to host a food competition, and the winner will get to have their culinary creation featured on menus at the LMCU Ballpark this season.
'The Ballpark Chef Challenge' will be held on March 14th at the Grand Rapids Community College Sechhia Institute for Culinary Education. Contestants will be provided a list of ingredients to choose from to create their menu item. They will then have 30 minutes to assemble their creation and a panel of judges will select the winner.
The food will be judged on taste, presentation, ease of assembly and consumption, as well as originality. Applications for the competition will be accepted until March 6th. The winner of the challenge will also get a gift basket filled with Whitecaps gear and merchandise, plus tickets to games this season.
