Man to pay over 1.2 million for stealing diabetic strips from VA

A Pennsylvania man will serve 6-and-a-half years in prison for his role in a multi-year conspiracy to traffic stolen diabetic test strips from the Battle Creek Veteran Affairs Medical Center. The U.S. Attorney's Office in Grand Rapids says 45-year-old Steven Anderson was convicted last June on a dozen counts after trafficking 79-hundred boxes of stolen diabetic test strips worth more than 427-thousand dollars. To resolve the government’s civil claims, Anderson has also agreed to pay more than $1.2 million.

Prosecutors say two co-conspirators were sentenced last year after pleading guilty, 53-year-old Jennifer Robertson of Battle Creek and 57-year-old Michelle McAllister of Jerome, Michigan.

Robertson was sentenced to 1.5 years in prison, while McAllister was sentenced to 10 months
