A wedding venue in Ottawa County is coming under fire after a social media post circulated this week highlighting the venue's new wedding policy.
The Old Wooden Barn, located off New Holland Street states on its website that it will only "recognize marriages between a biological man and biological woman', due to its Christian values. Some people argue that this goes against Human Right's ordinances.
Gov. Gretchen Whitmer amended the state’s civil rights law or Elliott-Larsen City Rights Act last year to add sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression to the list of protected classes.
