Michigan GOP Chair Karamo to speak at townhall in Allendale Twp.

ALLENDALE, Mich. -- Michigan Republican Party Chairwoman Kristina Karamo will speak at a town hall meeting tonight in the Allendale Township Hall auditorium.

Precinct delegates from the 3rd Congressional District of the GOP will be there, as well.

The town hall gets underway at 6:30 p.m.

Lance Griffin is the party's treasurer for District-3, which covers Kent, Ottawa and Muskegon counties. He tells WOOD Radio why they're holding the speaking tour in every congressional district in Michigan.

"It's because a rogue faction of members from the Michigan Republican Party state committee held an [allegedly] unlawful meeting. And 45 out of 107 state committee members voted 40-to-5 to remove Kristina. One week later, at an official meeting, the state committee voted 59-to-1 to affirm Kristina as the chair of our party," Griffin said.

There has been no official confirmaton on whether the first committee vote was illegal. But Griffin says Karamo will answer every question put to her tonight. The Allendale Township Hall is at 6676 Lake Michigan Drive. That is east of 68th Avenue.

Griffin said Karamo will answer every question asked of her at the meeting.
