GR Outside, a division of Grand Rapids Parks and Recreation, is offering free sled libraries this winter at Richmond Park, Mulick Park and Plaster Creek Park. From now until the end of winter, you can grab a sled from the station any time.
But it's not just sleds you can borrow; the gear library also offers winter clothes and snowshoes. Kent County residents can borrow the equipment by making a reservation online or setting up an appointment. Gear library walk-ins are also welcome on Fridays between 12 p.m. and 5 p.m. at Roosevelt Park on 739 Van Raalte Drive.
The year-round gear library works off of donations.
