A nonprofit in Grand Rapids is helping people stay safe and keep from overdosing.
The Grand Rapids Red Project is one of the first to offer a free needle exchange program in Michigan, but that's not all they're doing.
Just last spring, the Red Project became the first ever in the state to provide real-time drug checking through a process called Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy. This service is offered from noon to four every Monday through Friday at their outreach space located at 1168 Madison SE. and is completely free.
