GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) -- A high-end seafood restaurant in downtown Grand Rapids is shutting down for good.
Former employees say Charley's Crab closed permanently this week. Those employees also say the COVID-19 pandemic was one of the main reasons the restaurant closed its doors.
The restaurant was launched in 1982 by restaurateur Chuck Meur, but it was owned by Houston-based Landry's Inc. when it shut down.
The sign outside the restaurant, which sits near the edge of the Grand River, has already been removed.
