WYOMING, Mich. (WOOD) -- The Wyoming man who held police at bay in a standoff that lasted at least 8 hours has been charged in connection with the incident.

Patrick Coyne, 59, is facing with three counts of felonious assault for the domestic violence allegations that gave rise to the standoff, Kent County Prosecutor Chris Becker confirmed Thursday. He has not yet been arraigned.

The incident began Wednesday afternoon after police were called to a home on Roos Avenue south of Burton Street in Wyoming on reports of domestic violence. Investigators say Coyne reportedly brandished a long gun during the ordeal.
