Pilot drives stranded passenger home to Zeeland

FILLMORE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A West Michigan passenger stranded with hundreds of others at Chicago O'Hare International Airport during Tuesday's snowstorm made it home that night thanks to the kindness of an airline pilot.

Nick Damico's connecting flight from O'Hare to the Gerald R. Ford International Airport was canceled because of weather. He had collected his luggage and was headed to a hotel for the night when he was approached by an American Airlines pilot with a surprising offer.

"He said, 'Well, how would you like to get there tonight?' and I said, 'I'd love to get there tonight,'" Damico told 24 Hour News 8 Wednesday night.
