Brace yourself: Cold temperatures, snow this weekend

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The leaves may still be on the trees but more snow is ramping up for the week ahead.

It has been more than six months since snowflakes fell in West Michigan. The average date for the first inch of snow in Grand Rapids is around Nov. 20 but the past two years, the first inch of snow didn’t arrive until December.

Most of west Michigan woke to a widespread 2" of snow with some seeing closer to 5.5"!
