'Veterans of the GLIAC': Ferris State opens camp

BIG RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Ferris State’s football team returns four of its five starters on the offensive line and eight starters overall this season as the Bulldogs look to reach the 10-win plateau for the seventh straight year under head coach Tony Annese.

Starting left tackle Devon “Bo” Johnson is a towering presence at 6-foot-7 and 310 pounds. Guard Nic Sawyer will help anchor the Bulldogs interior. Both are preseason All-Americans.

"I feel like we are the veterans of the GLIAC," Johnson said with a smile Tuesday as the Bulldogs opened camp. "We are bringing in so many people that are so experienced. Everybody knows exactly what to do and doesn't have a hard time catching plays and being off guard with the defenses."
