Ex-board members charged with embezzling from youth league

CEDAR SPRINGS, Mich. (WOOD) — Two people are facing charges for allegedly bilking thousands of dollars out of the Kent County youth football league they helped oversee.

James Crouch and Heather Vaughn are charged with embezzling between $1,000 and $20,000 from the Cedar Springs Youth Football League.

Vaughn was the league's treasurer and Crouch was the president. The league's vice president, April Victorson said they resigned in January and February respectively after the league noticed some money was missing. After the resignations, the league determined approximately $12,000 was missing from its account, Victorson said.
