Alger Middle School students receive free laptops

Dozens of Alger Middle School students received a free laptop of Thursday.

School officials say technology is ingrained in everyday life and schools are incorporating it into learning because its not going anywhere.

Alger Middle School Principal Charlie Lovelady II says some students don't have access to the internet at home and it can create challenges for them.

The laptop giveaway was made possible through AT&T, the Greater Grand Rapids NAACP, Kent School Services Network and Human IT.
