GRAND RAPIDS (WOOD-AM) - The Ben Simon era has come to a close for the Grand Rapids Griffins.
The team announced it would not renew the contracts of Simon and his staff.
Simon spent eight seasons on the team's coaching staff, including five as head coach.
Simon's team finished with a franchise-low 28 wins this season. The Griffins also finished last in the American Hockey League's Central Division.
