Calvin University is adding a football program.
The team will launch next season with the search for a coach beginning next month.
Director of Athletics Jim Timmer says the university will also add women's acrobatics and tumbling and men's volleyball.
Calvin's strategic plan for athletics was approved Friday and will also fund the renovation and expansion of facilities, including a new lacrosse, outdoor soccer and football fields.
