The Big Three 8-25-22

1 Biden announced a new program that would transfer responsibility for student loan debt to the back of taxpayers while bailing out big banks and scam schools who prey on students.

Those who currently owe on debts would be eligible to have up to $20,000 in student loan debt wiped paid for by tax payers.

Individuals with pep grants could have 20,000 transferred out. Those who make less than $125,000 a year but did not receive Pell Grants are eligible for $10,000.

The Biden administration's move could cost taxpayers over $300 billion over the next ten years, according to a Tuesday report by economists at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business

73% of the canceled debt will go to households in the top 60%.

2 The Uvalde school board voted unanimously Wednesday to immediately terminate the contract of district police chief Pete Arredondo.

Arredondo has come under intense public scrutiny over the law enforcement response to the May 24 massacre, America's deadliest school attack since 2012.

During the events of that day, the attacker remained in two adjoined classrooms for more than an hour before officers entered the rooms and killed him.

The delay contradicted widely taught protocol for active shooter situations that calls for police to immediately stop the threat.

Arredondo was the on-scene police commander, though he has said he did not consider himself in charge.

3 The Justice Department will have until noon today to decide what should or should not be included in the document that was used to justify the fbi raid on Trump’s home.

They’re expected to file a redacted version of the affidavit used to obtain a warrant for search.
