The Big Three 8-17-22

1 The nearly $1 Trillion Biden-flation spending bill was signed into law yesterday.

The so-called Inflation Reduction Act promises to slow inflation, lower prescription drug prices, fight climate change and raise taxes on big corporations.

3 things everyone should know about this bill (that every Dem in Congress voted for)

1) Multiple studies say it won't reduce inflation

2) IRS gets $80 billion to hire 87,000 new agents so taxpayers face more audits

3) Tax hikes for the middle class and small businesses

2 Liz Cheney becomes the latest Republican, who voted to impeach President Trump, to lose her congressional seat in a Wyoming primary last night.

She was defeated by Harriet Hageman, a lawyer endorsed by President Trump.

8 out of 10 Republicans who voted to impeach won’t return to congress. West Michigan Congressman Peter Meijer was defeated by Trump Endorsed John Gibbs and Michigan Congressman Fred Upton retired to avoid a primary challenge by Trump endorsed Congressman Bill Huizenga.

In Alaska: Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowski, who voted to impeach former president Donald Trump, advanced in her all-party primary. Sarah Palin, running in both a House primary and special election, advanced in the primary. The special election hasn’t been called.

Trump has now defeated the Clinton, McCain, Bush, AND Cheney dynasties.

3 A federal judge in Florida has avoided ruling on whether to unseal a key document related to the FBI’s raid of former President Donald Trump’s resort, instead scheduling a hearing to hear arguments from parties in person.

Judicial Watch’s motion to unseal the search warrant affidavit and other materials, backed by a number of other businesses and groups, will be the subject of the Aug. 18 hearing at the federal court in West Palm Beach.

The nonprofit urged the court on Aug. 10, two days after the raid, to unseal the warrant, the affidavit, and related documents.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) is admitting that FBI agents took passports from former President Donald Trump, according to an email made public by a spokesperson for Trump.

A screenshot of the missive, authored by DOJ national security official Jay Bratt, informed lawyers for Trump that agents “seized three passports belonging to President Trump.”
