Block of abortion ban enforcement will continue

An Oakland County judge is continuing a temporary restraining order that prevents county prosecutors from taking up abortion cases.

The order was requested by Governor Whitmer's office on Monday.

In a ruling Monday, the Michigan Court of Appeals ruled county prosecutors are local officials and the Court of Claims did not have authority over them.

A hearing will be held in two weeks to determine if the order will become a preliminary injunction.
