The Big Three 6-24-22

1 The Senate passed the gun grab bill last night, 65 to 33 with 15 Republicans joining Democrats in support of the measure. The bill now goes to the House for a vote.

2 The Supreme Court overturned a bad NY gun control law and may have just settled whatever the Senate has done.

The law required gun owners seeking a license to carry a concealed handgun to demonstrate a "proper cause" to do so.

In a 6-3 ruling for New York State Rifle & Pistol Association, Inc. v. Bruen, the Court reversed lower court decisions upholding New York's law and delivered the most significant victory for gun rights in more than a decade.

3 Consumer’s energy is going coal free by 2025. They’ve moved up their goal from 2039.

That will allow the utility company to close all three units of the J.H. Campbell power plant in Port Sheldon Township and two others near Bay City, making it one of the first utility companies in the nation to go coal-free.
