1 Biden has invoked the Defense Production Act to address the ongoing shortage of baby formula throughout the U.S., the White House announced on Wednesday evening.
Biden is requiring suppliers of materials used in the production of baby formula to send shipments to formula manufacturers first, before other customers, the White House said in a press release.
The WH is also launching “Operation Fly Formula.” The initiative calls for the Department of Health and Human Services and Agriculture Department to use commercial planes operated by the Defense Department to import baby formula from other nations.
2 Kent County Prosecutor Chris Becker says that the Michigan State Police are likely to complete their investigative report by the end of the week, or potentially next week.
He received a partial report from the MSP on April 28th but more information was needed to make a determination.
Becker is consulting with experts.
"However, while reviewing the material that has been provided thus far, I determined that additional expert guidance – beyond the scope of the MSP – is needed in order for me to make a fully informed decision. I have begun to seek this expert guidance."
Becker asked for patience from the public.

The CDC raised Kent County's COVID-19 community spread level to yellow, or moderate risk of spread.
