1 The MI GOP state convention made for an exciting Saturday as delegates from all over Michigan descended on Grand Rapids to cast their votes for Republican nominees for Attorney General, Secretary of State, and other statewide offices.
Kristina Karamo won the party’s nomination as SOS candidate and Antrim County lawsuit attorney, Matt Deperno, edged out former House Speaker Tom Leonard for the Attorney General nomination.
Mike Lindell and Former NYC Mayor and President Trump attorney, Rudy Giuliani were in town to support both Karamo and Deperno.
2 Rev Al Sharpton is demanding the name of the GRPD officer be released.
After Patrick Lyoya’s funeral on Friday, Rev. Al Sharpton held a press conference calling for a federal investigation into his death.
Sharpton said he asked the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice on Friday to investigate the case. He said the Biden administration is aware of the death of Patrick Lyoya.
“We will not leave this to local prosecutors,” Sharpton said.
3 A Texas National Guardsman who went missing while attempting to save two men who were drowning while attempting to illegally enter the country at the southern border has been identified.
The soldier who went missing in Maverick County has been identified as 22-year-old Bishop E. Evans from Arlington, Texas. The department notified the missing soldier's family on Friday night.
The search continues for the guardsmen.
