Shooting Suspect Turns Himself in to Kalamazoo Police

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety says a 16-year-old, who was a suspect in a shooting earlier this week, came to police headquarters and turned himself in Tuesday morning.

The shooting in questions happened Sunday evening on Vernon Court in the city's Edison neighborhood. The 35-year-old victim is listed in critical condition after being taken to the hospital.

The suspect is being held at the Kalamazoo County Juvenile Home, awaiting arraignment, facing assault with intent to murder and felony firearm charges.
