1 Foreign airlines have already begun canceling flights into the US, as CEOs of the major airlines warn a poorly coordinated rollout of 5G technology could interfere with airplane equipment and have catastrophic consequences. Both AT&T & Verizon have voluntarily agreed not to activate the 5G towers in the vicinity of some airports. This comes after execs of 10 airlines sent a letter to Transportation Secy Buttigieg saying they feared this rollout would result in chaos at airports and could grind the nation's commerce to a halt. But the wireless carriers, as well as the chief of American Airlines, have made it clear they are frustrated with the FAA for not troubleshooting this earlier, while 40 nations have already successfully deployed 5G tech without interfering with air traffic. Many fear this could also lead to unnecessary questions or regulations re: cell service & planes.
