Ford Airport Expecting Over 40,000 Passengers for Holiday Week

GRAND RAPIDS (WOOD-AM) - The Ford International Airport is expecting at least 40,000 passengers for the holidays this week.

The numbers are expected to come in at roughly 81 percent of 2019 numbers. Record passenger levels were seen in 2019.

Airport officials are urging people to be patient and arrive early - ideally, at least two hours before your flight.

“This will give people plenty of time to find a parking spot, check in with their airline, go through the TSA security checkpoint, maybe grab a cup of coffee post-security and then on to their flight on time,” chief operating officer Alex Peric told WOOD-TV.
