Teenager Charged with Shooting Brother While Hunting

SOLON TOWNSHIP, Mich. - The Kent County Prosecutor's Office has charged a 17-year-old boy with Careless Discharge of a Firearm Causing Injury, for when the teen shot his 12-year-old brother while hunting Monday evening.

The 12-year-old is listed in stable condition after being mistaken by the elder brother for a deer.

The names of the brothers are not being released due to their age. The sheriff’s office said drugs and alcohol are not believed to be a factor.
