LANSING (WOOD-AM) - Kalamazoo Democrat Julie Rodgers and Wyoming Republican Tommie Brann are co-sponsoring legislation in the state house that would make diapers exempt from the state's sales tax.

"We took a responsibility to protect the health and safety of Michigan people and indirectly this bill does that and will help people take care of their families a little bit better," Brann told WOOD-TV.

The legislation, which would affect both child and adult diaper sales, is currently in committee.
