ORLEANS TOWNSHIP, Mich. - A 42-year-old Lakeview man is dead following a deadly crash on Canfield Road near Wheeler in Orleans Township, just east of Belding.
Investigators say the driver was heading north on Canfield at a high rate of speed when the care left the roadway, striking a tree before throwing the driver, who was not wearing his seat belt, from the car.
Speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
