A hand gesture that could continue to save lives

A simple hand gesture learned on TikTok is being credited for saving a girl in Kentucky.

The gesture became popular on TikTok after it was created by the Canadian Women's Foundation to signal someone at risk of abuse or in need of help.

The girl in Kentucky used the gesture after she was held against her will and taken through multiple states.

Sgt. John Wittkowski says a nonverbal symbol for help is so important in this day and age of virtual meetings and technology everywhere.
