Over $200K in public safety grants coming to W. MI

Governor Gretchen Whitmer is announcing over $1 million in funding from the U.S. Department of Justice for Michigan law enforcement agencies.

Over $200,000 of that funding will be coming to West Michigan.

Kalamazoo Township and Big Rapids both received around $75,000 for accreditation of their law enforcement departments.

The Michigan State Police received over $182,000 to put toward de-escalation training.
