The Big Three 9-30-21

1 Health departments across the state are rescinding mask orders for schools, over fears of losing funding.

Gov. Gretchen Whitmer signed off on the state's 55-billion dollar 2022 budget.

It includes limits on COVID-19 health orders, like mask mandates.

Whitmer says they’re "un-enforcable" but some health departments have still removed mask mandates.

Berrien, Irons, Dickinson, and Ionia are among the first.

2 Today is the last day for Congress to get some sort of stopgap bill in order to avoid a government shutdown at midnight. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said last night that a deal had been reached, and both the Senate and the House will likely vote on a continuing resolution today to keep the government funded at current levels for a set time period.

3 Today’s the deadline for Grand Valley students and staff to prove they've been jabbed. More than 90% of staff and 87% of students are in compliance.
