Alger Heights Residents Worried About Affordable Housing Project

GRAND RAPIDS (WOOD-AM) - Alger Heights residents are coming out against plans to put affordable housing on Burton Street behind the Samaritas building.

Sam Granger tells WOOD-TV that he believes the 47-home development would damage the character of the neighborhood.

“We bought in this area for a reason,” Granger said. “We liked how quiet it was, how walkable it was.”

Pinnacle Construction Group is holding a series of community events to discuss the development, including one this afternoon at the proposed site.
