Grand Rapids Festival of the Arts Executive Director David Abbott is stepping down.
Abbott is making the choice to focus on his health and he was recently diagnosed with his sixth round of cancer.
The festival's board of directors says Abbott has welcomed new partnerships, navigated a pandemic and reconnected art organizations in the area during his time as the director.
