Some Hospitals in West Michigan Nearing Capacity

GRAND RAPIDS (WOOD-AM) - Several hospitals across the region say they're approaching capacity.

Spectrum Blodgett is 96 percent full. Spectrum Butterworth is at 91 percent. Mercy Health says they're at 85 percent.

Brian Brasser, the chief operating officer at Spectrum, says they have roughly 150 patients with COVID-19 at their hospitals. Just over 100 are in Grand Rapids.

"We’ve been very, very busy in our hospitals," Brasser told WOOD-TV. "We’ve been running a much higher census than is typical for this time of year."
