City Commission Creates Board for Affordable Housing Fund

GRAND RAPIDS (WOOD-AM) - The Grand Rapids City Commission voted last night to create an affordable housing community fund board.

Deputy City Manager Eric Delong tells WOOD-TV that the fund would give developers a boost to get projects off the ground

"The Affordable Housing Fund Board will try to focus on where there is most need and try to help most people with funds they have," Delong said.

Board members will be selected later this year.

The fund will get an initial $900,000 investment and will also benefit from $5 million from the American Rescue Plan.
