Law will give one-time drunk driving offenders a chance to wipe conviction

A new Michigan law will give convicted drunken drivers a chance to have a clean slate.

Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed the bill into law last week.

The bill allows one-time offenders a chance to have their record wiped.

The individual will have to have waited five years to be eligible and the incident cannot have resulted in serious injury or death.

A judge will then have the choice of expungement.
