GRPD arrest under investigation

The Grand Rapids Police Department is being scrutinized over an arrest last week, as internal affairs investigates the situation.

The incident happened at the McDonald's near Woodland Mall on September 3.

A video of the incident was captured by an employee and posted to Facebook.

In the video, a man is kneeling on the ground as multiple officers stand near their vehicles with their weapons pointed at him.

In the video, McDonald's employees are yelling to police that they have the wrong man and the man on his knees is just an employee picking up his check.

GRPD says they were called to the area for the report of a burglary at a nearby building, and the man in the video fit the description of the suspect.

The man was cooperative.
