More COVID-19 testing sites opening

Demand for COVID-19 testing sites is increasing in West Michigan.

Health departments and hospitals are opening additional locations or increasing staffing at laboratories to keep up with demand for tests.

Dr. Ronald Grifka, chief medical officer for Metro Health-University of Michigan says the system started to shut down sites in June and July as demand fell.

However, there is now heightened concern about positive tests as kids head back to school.
