Fee dispute keeps Kalamazoo vice mayor off ballot

A dispute over unpaid fees is keeping Kalamazoo Vice Mayor Patrese Griffin off the November ballot.

Kalamazoo City Clerk Scott Borling says under state law, Griffin cannot appear on the ballot after signing an affidavit saying she had paid all fees and fines.

However at the time of singing, her campaign owed $500 in fees.

Griffin says she was not aware of the fee when she signed the affidavit and paid the fee as soon as she learned about it.
