City Clerk: Human Error to Blame For Wrong City Commission Vote Count

MUSKEGON (WOOD-AM) - Election officials say unofficial results for Tuesday's Muskegon City Commission primary were not correct.

An initial post-vote tally had John Page not moving on to the general election, but the city clerk says he did get enough votes to advance to the November ballot.

"Our election process here is solid, but at the end of the day, there's also about 100 people who are working on this election, and we are all human," City Clerk Ann Meisch said. "Even the best of us make mistakes."

Page says he doesn't believe there was any malicious intent.
