Armed Gas Station Stand-Off Suspect Was Former Juvenile Lifer

WOODLAND (WOOD-AM) - The man accused of holding off police off for seven hours at a Barry County gas station Wednesday night and Thursday morning has been arraigned for felonious assault and other charges.

Timothy Riddle, 48, had previously been sentenced to life in prison at 15 for killing a woman near Detroit. He was released in 2017 after life sentences for juveniles were ruled unconstitutional.

Riddle told the lone customer in the store to leave. Two employees hid until they were able to escape.
