Crews in Kalamazoo are removing the Milham Park dam.
For almost 100 years, the dam has been a popular place to visit.
However, deputy park director for Kalamazoo Patrick McVerry, says they don't understand why the dam was built to begin with.
The project will cost under $450,000 which will mostly be covered by state funding and grants.
