1 President Biden is sending people door to door in an effort to convince more Americans to get the jab.
The administration will first target communities with lower vaccination rates, according to press Secretary Jen Psaki. The door-to-door outreach efforts will get information about vaccines to people who haven’t received them yet.
The plan is part of the government’s COVID-19 response after the White House fell shy of its self-imposed July 4 deadline to get 70 percent of American adults at least one vaccination shot. According to data from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), more than 67 percent of American adults have received at least one shot and more than 157 million are fully vaccinated.
2 Over one million Michigan residents have registered for the “MI Shot to Win Sweepstakes.”
As of July 4, 61.9% of Michigan residents have received at least the first dose of the vaccine, according to the MDHHS.
3 The Grand Haven Coast Guard Festival is officially on after city council approved proposed changes for this year's event.
Events will be more spread out throughout downtown Grand Haven. It’s set to return July 30.
