Grandville officials are giving Miss Rita's Swim School hope as they say they want to work with her to make changes to comply with city ordinances.
Rita Shalhoup received a letter from the city saying her swim school was not complying with city ordinances after officials received complaints from neighbors.
The swim school was facing legal action if Shalhoup did not shut it down.
The city says they want to compromise with Shalhoup so she does not have to close the business of 33 years.
Officials say she can scale back her school to comply with ordinances.
