West Michigan Businesses Ready for Memorial Day Pandemic Bounce-Back

SAUGATUCK (WOOD-AM) - Several bars and restaurants across the region are hoping for some needed big business over the Memorial Day weekend.

"People want to be out, people want to do all of the things that they couldn’t do last summer and they’re ready to go," Christine Murphy, the owner of Wicks Park Bar and Grill in Saugatuck, told WOOD-TV.

Her restaurant transitioned to outdoor-only dining over the prior summer, but didn't see normal crowd sizes in part because big events that draw large crowds were canceled.

Saugatuck hosts its parade early Monday morning.
