West Michigan has had a very dry start to 2021.
Grand Rapids is running a deficit of6.16 inches of precipitation since the beginning of the year, 4.73 inches of that deficit has occurred since the meteorological spring on March 1.
All of Kent, Ottawa and Allegan counties are included in the severe drought range.
The rest of West Michigan is classifying as moderate drought.
