Former MDHHS chief was asked to resign

Former Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Chief Robert Gordon says Governor Gretchen Whitmer gave him the opportunity to resign.

Gordon testified before the Michigan state House Oversight Committee on Thursday morning.

Gordon said he served at the will of the governor and after she signaled wanting to move in a different direction, he believed it was appropriate to resign.

He says while he had differences of opinion with Whitmer leading up to his resignation, the differences were reasonable.
