Mercy Health is working with Havenwyck Hospital to build a new mental health facility.
The facility will go on Mercy Health's Southwest Campus.
The state issued Havenwyck Hospital a Certificate of Need Proposed Decision on Monday tentatively approving the inpatient behavioral health hospital.
The facility will have space for 60 adults beds, 24 geriatric beds and space for expansion.
Dr. Matt Biersack, chief medical officer at Mercy Health, says the West Michigan community has an unmet need for behavioral health services.
