Kent County DIY crafters could soon get free supplies

Kent County could soon be providing DIYers with free supplies.

The Kent County Department of Public Works is planning to demolish three buildings and construct administrative offices and a SafeChem reuse facility.

The projects is projected to cost $4 million.

The country has collected chemicals through the SafeChem program for around 30 years.

This space would give residents a place to access free wood stain, window and surface cleaners, varnishes, car cleaners, motor oil, fertilizers, pool and spa chemicals and laundry detergent.

Right now, the county pays to dispose of the chemical but they could be put to better use.
